Graphite Petroleum Coke

or graphitized petroleum coke is obtained from different reactions of petroleum coke in a graphite furnace at a temperature of 2500 to 3500 degrees Celsius. For this reason, it has a higher carbon percentage and a lower sulfur percentage, so that its sulfur content reaches less than 0.05%. In the steel industry, the best carbon additive for smelting petroleum coke is graphite. The carbonization of this product with low sulfur has a high decomposition and absorption rate, so that the germination of graphite in molten steel and iron with a uniform and fine distribution in them causes its excellent and stable performance.

Low sulfur graphite can be used as a carbonizer or carbon additive to prepare quality steel, cast iron, and alloy coatings that require low sulfur. Since it contains a high amount of carbon, it can be used as an additive in plastic and rubber industries. It is also used in the production of sealants and lubricants, electric brushes, combined brakes and many other items.

Low sulfur graphite is used in the production of high temperature crucibles in smelting, lubricants in the mechanical industry, electrodes and pencil cores. This material can be used as a carbonizer in the production of high quality steel, cast iron and alloy.

Another feature of this product is its ability to increase the ferrite content of cast iron to a very high level without pearlite stabilizer. Saving in smelting costs by reducing the amount of scrap consumption, which results in saving the cost of raw materials, is another advantage of this product.

The most important reason for using this type of graphite is in the production of ductile or unbreakable cast iron parts.
